Hohne Pools was established in 1954 when L. C. Hohne responded to the public demand for a distinctive pool builder. Almost 45 years ago, Hohne began as a swimming pool builder for the construction and renovation of pools, employing only himself. Hohne received the first license for swimming pool construction in the State of Maryland, license number 377.
Hohne initially served only Maryland until interest from surrounding states prompted its growth into a Mid-Atlantic company. In 1956, as one of the first National Pool and Spa Institute members (member #312), L. C. Hohne joined and took an active roll in (N.S.P.I.) as president of the Chesapeake chapter and in the safety, building and ethical conduct standards that (N.S.P.I.) members abide by today. Hohne is now a multi-million dollar corporation. Still locally owned, Hohne has the same dedication to excellence in providing quality workmanship and placing a priority on customer satisfaction. It maintains a leadership position in the community as well as the pool and spa industry.
Hohne now employs over 125 professional specialists, surpassing customer's expectations, to ensure satisfaction. Hohne has been honored more times for outstanding design and engineering than any other pool builder in the Mid-Atlantic. Its product offerings include the latest, most advanced technology for the safest, operating cost-conscious and low maintenance commercial, institutional and residential pools, custom spas, lap pools, indoor pools and remodeling of pools.
Over the past forty-six years, Hohne has established itself with a solid client base, having completed more than 8,000 installations. This year Hohne completed a major $250,000 renovation to the United States Naval Academy swimming pools in Annapolis, Maryland. In addition, Hohne has under construction the swimming pools at the $3,000,000 Maryland Athletic Club & Wellness Centers® indoor aquatic facility and the Rehoboth Beach Country Club. In 1993 Hohne completed the new HarborView Condominium high rise building's indoor pool, located in Baltimore's Inner Harbor. And in 2000, completed the 14,000 Canal Water feature for Harbor View Townhomes.
Additional client names include: Ritz Carlton, Marriott Hotels®, Embassy Suites®, Hampton Inns®, Holiday Inns® and the Gettysburg Country Club. The Scuba America indoor diving tank, the Landrover vehicle test track pool and many local community pools for apartments, townhomes and condominium residences were also completed this year and in past years.
